How to Flash Stock ROM on an Android Device:
Flashing a stock ROM (also called firmware) restores your device to its original state. This is often done when you want to unroot your phone, fix software issues, or upgrade/downgrade the Android version.
Things You'll Need:
- Android Phone: The phone you want to flash.
- USB Communication Cable: A USB cable to connect the phone to the computer.
- Stock ROM: The official ROM for your phone model.
- Flashing Tool: A tool for flashing the ROM (e.g., SP Flash Tool for MediaTek devices).
- USB VCOM Driver: A driver for your phone (especially for MediaTek devices).
Steps to Flash Stock ROM:
Step 1: Download and Prepare Files
- Stock ROM: Download the stock ROM for your specific phone model from a reliable source.
- Flashing Tool: Install the appropriate flashing tool. For MediaTek devices, you can use SP Flash Tool.
- USB VCOM Drivers: Install the USB VCOM drivers that correspond to your phone's chipset (MediaTek, Qualcomm, etc.).
Step 2: Install USB VCOM Drivers
- Install USB VCOM Drivers: Go to your phone's manufacturer website and download the appropriate USB VCOM drivers.
- Open Device Manager: On your PC, right-click This PC or My Computer, then click Manage.
- Install Legacy Hardware: In the Device Manager, click on Add Legacy Hardware under the Action menu.
- Select COM Ports: Choose COM Port from the list and continue with the installation.
- Choose MediaTek: In the options, choose MediaTek and install the driver MTK USB Port.
Step 3: Launch Flashing Tool (SP Flash Tool)
- Open Flash Tool: After downloading the flashing tool, right-click the file and select Run as Administrator to open it.
- Select Scatter File: Click Scatter Loading and locate the MTK file (usually named MTK_android_scatter.txt) inside the downloaded stock ROM folder.
- Load the ROM: The tool will automatically load the firmware for your phone.
Step 4: Flash the Stock ROM
- Click Download: Once the scatter file is loaded, click the Download button on the flashing tool.
- Power Off the Device: Make sure your phone is powered off before connecting it to the computer.
- Connect the Phone to the Computer: Use a USB cable to connect your phone to the computer. It should automatically detect your device.
- Wait for Flashing: The tool will begin flashing the stock ROM. Wait until the process is complete.
- Progress Bar: The flashing process will be shown as a progress bar.
- Green Checkmark: When the flashing is complete, you will see a green checkmark indicating success.
Step 5: Disconnect and Reboot
- Remove the Battery (If removable): After the flashing process is complete, you may need to remove the battery for a few seconds.
- Reconnect and Reboot: Reinsert the battery, connect the phone again (if necessary), and turn it on.
Once the device reboots, it will be running the stock ROM you flashed. The phone will be restored to its original state with the official firmware.
