Installing Kali Linux on Virtual Machine (VB)
Follow these steps to install Kali Linux on a Virtual Machine using VirtualBox:
1. Open VirtualBox, which you can download
2. Click on "New."
3. Enter a name for your machine, choose the type of operating system (Linux), and select the version (Debian 32 or 64-bit).
4. Click "Next" and allocate a minimum of 3000MB RAM.
5. Choose "Create a virtual hard disk now" and click "Create."
6. Select "VDI" (VirtualBox Disk Image) and click "Next." Set the hard disk size (e.g., 18-20 GB).
7. Click on "Create" and then "Settings."
8. In the settings menu, click on "Storage" and then "Empty."
9. Click on the disk icon next to "Optical Drive," then choose the Kali Linux ISO file you downloaded.
10. Start the virtual machine by clicking on the "Start" button.
11. Follow these installation steps for Kali Linux on the VM:
- Select "Graphical Install."
- Choose language, country, and keyboard settings.
- Set the domain name, password, and disk partition.
- Confirm settings and let the installation complete.
12. Once installed, log in using the default credentials:
- Username: `root`
- Password: (set during installation)
To shut down the VM:
1. Click on the close (X) button.
2. Choose "Power off the machine."
