How to Install Linux (Ubuntu) Using a Pendrive on a Computer
Linux is an open-source operating system that can be installed on a laptop or PC. Ubuntu is one of the most popular Linux distributions.
System Requirements
✔ Processor: 700 MHz or higher
✔ RAM: Minimum 512 MB (Recommended: 2GB or more)
✔ Storage: At least 5GB–10GB (Recommended: 25GB or more)
Step 1: Download Ubuntu ISO File
🔹 Visit the official Ubuntu website: ubuntu.com/download
🔹 Download the latest Ubuntu ISO file.
Step 2: Create a Bootable USB Drive
To create a bootable USB, you need software like Rufus or Universal USB Installer.
🔹 Download Rufus: rufus.ie
🔹 Insert a USB drive (at least 8GB).
🔹 Open Rufus and select your USB drive.
🔹 Click "Select" and choose the Ubuntu ISO file.
🔹 Set Partition Scheme to MBR or GPT (based on your system).
🔹 Click "Start" and wait for the process to complete.
Step 3: Boot From USB Drive
🔹 Restart your computer and press F12, F2, DEL, or ESC (depends on your PC) to enter the Boot Menu.
🔹 Select USB drive as the boot device.
🔹 The Ubuntu installer will start.
Step 4: Install Ubuntu
1️⃣ Select Language → Click "Install Ubuntu"
2️⃣ Choose Keyboard Layout → Click "Continue"
3️⃣ Choose Installation Type
- Normal installation (Recommended)
- Minimal installation (For basic apps only)
4️⃣ Partition Setup - Select "Erase disk and install Ubuntu" (for a fresh install)
- Or choose "Something else" (for custom partitioning)
5️⃣ Click "Install Now" → Confirm changes and continue
6️⃣ Enter User Details (Name, Password, Username)
7️⃣ Click Next and wait for the installation to complete
8️⃣ Restart the Computer
Step 5: Enjoy Ubuntu 🎉
After restarting, remove the USB drive. Ubuntu is now installed! 🚀
