Uses of Function Keys (F1-F12) on a Keyboard:

                              


1. F1:

   - Opens the Help Center. Pressed alone on a keyboard or with the function key in combination on laptops.
   - Example: Pressing F1 in Chrome for help.

2. F2:

   - Used for renaming files. Select a file and press F2 to rename it.

3. F3:

   - Used for searching applications on a computer.
   - On laptops, pressing Fn + F3 opens the search option.
   - In browsers, used to search text.

4. F4:

   - In desktops, pressing Alt + F4 shows options to shut down or restart the system.
   - In applications, pressing F4 can close the application.

5. F5:

   - Used to refresh the computer. In browsers, it reloads the website.

6. F6:

   - Used to decrease volume on a laptop.
   - In browsers, it moves towards the URL.

7. F7:

   - Used in applications like MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel to check spelling or grammar.

8. F8:

   - Allows entry into safe mode on a computer. For example, pressing F8 during laptop startup enters safe mode.
   - In Word, used to select all text.

9.  F9:

   - Used in MS Word with the combination of Alt and Shift.

10. F10:

    - In MS Word, pressing F10 with Shift shows shortcut menus.

11. F11:

    - Used to switch to full-screen mode on a computer.
    - In Chrome, pressing F11 makes the browser full screen.

12. F12:

    - On laptops, pressing F12 without the function key may activate flight mode.
    - In MS Word, pressing F12 with the function key saves the file.
